Enhancing stroke care at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital through advanced medical equipment and community support
The Christian Medical Fellowship - Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (CMF-KATH) is a Christian interdenominational fellowship of KNUST medical students in their clinical years. The aim of our ministry is to have an impact on the medical profession and the entire nation as Christian medics.
For over 25 years, we have undertaken annual projects to support worthy causes at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi, making a lasting impact on healthcare delivery in Ghana.
Understanding the urgent need for enhanced stroke care
Stroke is among the top five causes of adult admissions and deaths in Ghana, with significant impacts on individuals and families.
The KATH Stroke Unit faces significant challenges due to limited resources, outdated equipment, and growing patient load.
Early detection and timely treatment are crucial in reducing stroke-related deaths and disabilities, requiring modern equipment.
Our comprehensive approach to enhancing stroke care
Purchase patient cardiac monitors, mobile electrocardiogram machines, electronic hoist machines, and other essential equipment to expand the Stroke Unit's capacity and effectiveness.
Support underprivileged patients by covering treatment costs including medications and diagnostic tests, ensuring equitable access to quality stroke care.
Empower communities through education about stroke prevention, healthy lifestyle promotion, and early detection through comprehensive outreach programs.
Transparent allocation of funds for maximum impact
Advanced patient monitoring system
Portable electrocardiogram equipment
Patient transfer and mobility aid
